"The unofficial word from Kennedy Towers"
Here my show-biz life unfolds. Beware that this is where I say the things that I can't on the official Corporate Entertainers website. (Check it out if you want me as your special party entertainer)

We're talking about persuasion skills, psychology and other things to stroke my ego. Comments are encouraged without any need to register, so go ahead and stroke me...

Back on the Blog

How was your Christmas? I hope it was just fantastic! Mine was busy but I had a great time seeing family and friends.

A buddy of mine has just come home, he's been living in New York City for the past 5 months and we had a few beers last night. So welcome home Alex! Sounds like he's had a great time. We thrashed some ideas out last night too which I'll tell you all about when they come to fruition.

In the coming months I am excited to tell you that there will be some changes, I am expanding what i do significantly to offer specialised training in the techniques I have been using for pure entertainment. I've had my arm twisted by some burly blokes who want me to spill the beans on exactly how I've been successful in persuading and influencing people and also how I have been successful thus far in my career.

So that is on it's way in to the planning stages, details of which I will of course be posting here.

Today is my first real day back at work, doing admin and sorting things out for 2009 to make it a year that is even more successful than the last.

Thanks again for your support, I really do appreciate it.

p.s. Tickets are on sale for the Newcastle show in March...

The Statex Pizza

Yesterday's show in the upstairs cocktail bar of Pizza Express, Newcastle was for printing experts Statex. Although the environment of people standing around munching on slithers of pizza and drinking copious amounts of beer from the open door fridges was not immediately conducive to the performance of my act I took the bull by the horns and went in feet first.

The show quickly grabbed everyone's attention as I gambled on reading people's body language to decipher who was lying and who was telling the truth, then the skeptics dreams were shattered with explosions of 'naughty words' when I plucked thought of words and places right out of their minds.

After the show, top man Graham pondered the idea of perhaps asking me back later in the year to teach some of the body language and persuasion skills to his sales staff - so in the new year we will be having a chat about that.

Good times - Christmas tomorrow so I'm off to drink mulled wine and deliver cards and gifts. Ho ho ho.

p.s. have you seen this yet: http://mindofkennedy.blogspot.com/2008/12/its-phil-collins-naturally.html it made my day.

It's Phil Collins - Naturally!

I am just in awe. Christmas eve, gifts are wrapped under the tree and I am just looking around You Tube for three and a half minutes of procrastination when I come across what has to be one of the greatest exhibitions of real talent I've seen in a long, long time.

Before you watch the video below I want you to remember one thing. The instruments they are holding are not being played, there is no band or orchestra. Every single sound you hear is made by the voices of these seven men. EVERY sound. Every synth, drum-beat and note. Try to believe it because it's unbelievable.

NOW enjoy - Naturally 7

Have a great day tomorrow!

Sending Chivas Down my Spine

Ho ho ho - yes I am back online. Busy times performing here there and just about everywhere in the UK this December. It's great to be busy. Just wanted to report in and let you know how things are going. On Friday night I was in Elgin, Scotland performing for the people of Chivas Brothers who make the incredible Chivas Regal. Nice.

It was an after noon show, on stage at around 3:30pm just after Christmas Dinner. What an atmosphere. The laughter raised the roof in all the right places and the sound of astonished brewers was heard in between laughs. I'm awaiting some pictures from the company photographer, as soon as they're through I'll stick some online for you to take a peek at. After all it's nice to see the places I perform at to get a sense of the atmosphere that was created.

A free bar all afternoon so many a drink was had. After the show I had a look around the town - mainly a street. Hunger struck, so I thought 'while in Scotland...' let's try a Tandoori restaurant. And that I did.

Sat at the formidable 'table for 1' I was made to look all the more lonely by the two large works parties or 10 sat on either side of me on grand banqueting tables. The food was good, the service speedy and a drink went down with great ease.

Off to pack now. I'll get those photographs posted as soon as they ping in my inbox.

Thanks again and if I don't have time before - do have a very Merry Christmas.

Gamble pays off

Back in my home town last night I performed for 18 of the most creative people who work for Proctor and Gamble. The group were from the Breakthrough team who are responsible for creating innovative ideas, designs and solutions for the chemical company.

Held at the Granger Rooms in Newcastle's city centre they dined and then were entertained by me. Rhea West, the organiser of the party had previously seen me at a friend's dinner party ina similar north-eastern eatery and said that she just had to have me to entertain her colleages. Shes such a nice lady!

The show was particularly exciting for me because I knew that these are scientific people who enjoy problem solving. So a very skeptical audience who (rightly) watched me like a hawk to make certain that 'magic boy' didn't do anything sneaky. I was safe, I think if I had been the normal slight of hand magician I could well have died on my behind but thankfully there is nothing for them to 'catch me out' on so they all seemed to enjoy it very much.

The organiser spoke to me afterwards to express her delight which once again made me a smily happy boy.

It was particularly nice to be able to personally connect with each guest. When there is an audience is 500-1000 people its more difficult to get that feeling of personal connection but with 18 of them I could really take them with me on the journey of the show and make it really personal to them. A lovely change for sure.

Off now back on a nother train. Speak soon!
